As the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, IFAT brought together companies, policymakers, innovators and industry representatives from different markets and sectors. For matterr, the event provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on how new technologies and cross-industry collaboration can contribute to more circular material systems.

Connecting with international partners

At our booth, we presented matterr’s approach to chemical recycling and exchanged ideas with visitors and stakeholders from across the value chain.

At the networking event hosted by Handwerkskammer für München und Oberbayern, our CEO Melanie Hackler presented matterr’s technology for a Turkish delegation. The event was organised as part of the Markterschließungsprogramm (MEP) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Another highlight was the Waste Solution Tour, organised by Zero Waste Innovation Hub, Circular Munich and Circular Republic. The tour brought together different perspectives on waste management and circular solutions in Munich.

matterr also contributed to several discussions during the week. Our Head of Strategic Market Development, Dr.-Ing. Eva Kamp, joined the BDI Fishtank Session panel on “Circular Carbon Cycle Solutions.”, and our Junior Sales Manager Shweta Khedkar presented “Depolymerizing the Problem: Closing the Missing Loop for Polyester.”

Beyond the individual events, IFAT 2026 provided an opportunity to connect with stakeholders from across Germany and Europe, as well as international partners from countries including Türkiye and Brazil. Despite different markets and perspectives, the conversations shared a common focus: developing the technologies, infrastructure and cooperation needed to move towards more circular material systems.

For matterr, the week was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from others and contribute to the ongoing discussion around how circularity can be put into practice.
